The Big Island ‘Ukulele Guild 11th annual stringed instrument show opened Friday, October 2 to a large and happy crowd at the Wailoa Arts and Cultural Center in Hilo. Visitors toured the exhibit, munched on pupus and enjoyed song and dance provided by musicians Alan Hale, Bob and Shirley Stoffer and hula dancer Sammi Fo.
Saturday afternoon Alan Hale led 35 ukulele players in an enthusiastic kanikapila.
The following Saturday, BIUG president Woodley White offered a demonstration on ukulele construction.
On Saturday, October 17, Andy Andrews will conduct our final kanikapila from 12-3 pm
The exhibit is open 9 am – 4:30 pm weekdays through October 29.
